As the economy is fluctuating there are so many people who are laid off from work and the rate and population of those who don’t have jobs are growing every day and those who have work are considered to be blessed and privileged to have one.
But sadly, among the many people who hold regular or even contractual jobs only a few know about their rights as a worker, thus many end up being abused or being mistreated by their employers. As an employee, you have to know these basics rights that you have in order to protect yourself from abuse and being unjustly treated by any company or employer.
Security of Tenure
A worker must have the security of tenure. That means that your position or rank in the work cannot be used as a bargaining chip by the employers to make you do things that are unconstitutional or is outside your line of work.
This meant that the worker has the right to keep their work and cannot just be unjustly dismissed without proper notification or proper due process. Thus, an employee is safe in his or her work given that they are doing their job and they are doing it right. There are only certain mandates within the employer’s manual where a worker can be immediately fired and dismissed from work.
This refers to the idea that a worker has a work schedule that both the worker and the company have to honor. The work schedule can vary from company to company, but the main idea is that there is a work schedule that has to be honored and if the employer cannot respect that, the employee has the right to negotiate.
Managers need to provide employees with clear guidelines of what is and is not acceptable during work hours. Every worker has the right to be paid the equivalent of the work they he rendered for the company. Every employee also has the right to ask for safe working conditions in the workplace. Not because you were chosen by a company among many other means that you owe them your life or that you owe them a debt of gratitude for doing so, just take it as a negotiation, that they chose you for the skillset that you have that they need for their company, thus you still have an inherent right as a worker to be kept and as a worker to be dignified, no matter the field of work.
