Of course, there is also interpreting in Corona times. As a Lingua-World translation agency, we offer you the services of our video interpreters and telephone interpreters around the clock, regardless of the language or dialect of the world that needs to be interpreted. Read here what to expect when you book our professional interpreters, how to communicate safely despite the distance and what video interpreting will cost.
According to the analysts from Eurostat , in 2019 only around five percent of employees in Germany usually worked from home and seven percent occasionally. 87 percent of employees worked at their workplaces in companies. According to Eurostat, these values have been quite stable for years.
The Covid-19 pandemic changed the situation fundamentally. From one day to the next, people had to work from home (remotely, in German: “distantly”, “distantly”): from the managing director to the clerk – in order to protect their own health and that of their colleagues. In the first lockdown in mid-March 2020, almost every second professional (49 percent) worked remotely , either entirely or partially . The first edition of the so-called Mannheim Corona Study still counted 21.2 percent of employees in the home office at the end of March. The first Corona wave is now behind us, the second has us firmly in its grip and we are countering it with a lockdown light. This also allows many to work remotely again.
Telephone interpreters and video interpreters work for you from a distance
Interpreters are still needed: in companies that are internationally positioned and communicate with employees, suppliers and customers in several languages, for example. Or in hospitals where non-German speaking patients are treated. Translations and interpreting services are needed here on a daily basis. Sometimes someone who has to negotiate with authorities, the landlord or a lawyer also needs an interpreter. And on the political stage, interpreters, especially conference interpreters, are constantly being used, needed. Not least to coordinate the handling of the corona pandemic across language borders. And as never before in the focus of everyone: scientists who report research results on Corona from all corners of the world that they achieved on site need interpreters to exchange ideas.
Of course, the interpreters from our LST-World translation agency also offer you suitable interpreting services in these difficult times, because we have long since positioned ourselves as a professional video interpreting provider: We offer you:
- Telephone interpreting and video interpreting – at a distance and without physical contact
- Interpreters who translate into all languages and rare dialects in the world
- a video interpreting portal that is available to you around the clock, 365 days a year
Are you looking for an interpreter who will also interpret for you under corona-compliant conditions?
How do telephone interpreting and video interpreting work in Corona times?
Telephony and video telephony have not only been advantageous since Corona in order to talk and work together flexibly regardless of physical contact : In view of the ongoing climate change, international companies in particular have long since stopped sending their employees around the world by plane, but to communicate online. This saves the time for organizing meetings and the travel time itself as well as the money for the trip and, if necessary, cancellation costs. After all, you only have to calculate the costs for telephoning or video telephoning (telephone charges). This in turn reduces the CO2 emissions caused by the company (your climate balance improves!), which benefits the environment.
Corona has exacerbated this trend since the beginning of the year: stay@home also meant the end for the majority of business trips.
You can book your telephone or video conference interpreting in Corona times regardless of time and place. You can spontaneously speak to your contacts online without wasting valuable time. Wherever you are, at work, in your home office or on the go – you have the choice of where you want to conduct your conversations with your contacts including an interpreter. The interpreter is available and translates back and forth between the languages of the participants.
If you book one of our professional telephone or video interpreters for an interpreting job, your Lingua World project manager will organize the rest quickly and reliably – you don’t have to worry about the technical side of things! You meet with your conversation partner(s) on the desired date in a virtual room on a secure and proven online meeting platform (three-way conference). Depending on how you booked it, the meeting will be a modern conference call or video conference. This takes place in the virtual space in a protected manner, in IT terms: encrypted. You can therefore talk, negotiate and discuss confidentially with one another, just like in a real meeting.
When setting up the online connection to your contact(s) and our interpreter, our project manager will support you with words and deeds. Once the connection is established, he completely withdraws from the connection – you are with your contact(s) and the interpreter in a confidential and almost personal circle. Our professional interpreters are specially trained for telephone interpreting and video interpreting and, of course, work discreetly.
In 3 steps to a secure online conference call with a remote telephone interpreter – this is how it works!
This is how a conference call with interpreter organized by your Lingua World project manager works:
Step 1: Make a request
Use the contact form to make your request for a telephone interpreter at the desired date. You can also send us an email or give us a call!
Your project manager then compares the desired date with the available telephone interpreters from the Lingua-World translation agency and makes you a non-binding offer with the expected telephone interpreter costs.
Step 2: Review the offer, accept and log in to the conference call
Once you have accepted the offer, your project manager will send you and your contact(s) the access data (login) for the protected virtual room for the telephone conference: an 11-digit telephone number plus a 6-digit password. You dial in via landline or smartphone/mobile phone and your telephone interpreter will be waiting for you there.
Step 3: Attend the conference call remotely with an interpreter
You and the person you are talking to can now talk to each other confidentially and in person with the help of the telephone interpreter. I wish you success!
